How Do I Fix The Sprocket On A Gt Ironhorse Maverick Sport ’05 Mountain Bike?

I can't seem to get the sprocket to come apart.My pedals are unalligned.I would like to check the ballbearings or tighten the sprocket.Whichever is necessary.
