How Much Should I Maximum Pay For A Second Hand Raleigh Bandicoot Mountain Bike With A Broken Left Pedal.?
I want to buy a second hand Raleigh Bandicoot Mountain Bike which costs about £350 new. The bike is in excellent condition, apart from the broken left pedal that needs replacing. Any idea on what the value of this second hand bike could be?

I would say 150. Second hand items are usually less than 50% of the price when it’s new.
50% to 60% if is in perfect shape .
The de facto standard is about 60%-80% of the new retail for the first year, and then a little less each year after, depending on condition and stuff like broken pedals. Always work a fair deal for as little as you can pay.

I’d scrutinize the “excellent” appearance…..breaking pedals isn’t easy, so give the bike a good once-over and ask how the pedal was broken, if the bike was crashed hard, etc. Also make sure the left crankarm is in good shape….not bent, no damaged pedal threads. If everything is in order, then you might be able to talk him as low as 200gbp. It’s an entry-level bike, so the resale shouldn’t be as high as on higher-quality bikes. If you aren’t happy with the price, keep shopping….there are loads of used bikes for sale.
