I’m Looking At Buying A Jamis Durango Mountain Bike Used. Is This A Good Bike?
I haven't biked much over the past few years but am now looking to get into trail riding. I was talking to an older guy who has a jamis durango sport which he claims is around 8 years old. The bike is in good shape and he recently tuned it up and added new pedals. The bike has shimano derailers but has no front suspension. He claims the bike was 600 dollars new and can't take a penny less than 130 dollars (cdn) for the bike. What I want to know is if the bike is good for trail riding despite it's lack of front suspension? And if the valuation on this bike is actually 600 dollars brand new. I have found pictures of Jamis durango bikes from the time period he claims it is from but all have front suspensions is he may be mistaken about the year the model was made? Thanks.

You’ll see some Jamis Durango Sport’s from 1997, 1998 and 1999 without suspension on the following link:http://www.bikepedia.com/Search.aspx?Q=j…
All of the jamis durango’s after 1996 had a front suspension fork. So either the bike is allot older than he claims or he changed the front fork.
