What Do You Think Of This Hardtail Mountain Bike?
I just bought it today at my local bike shop for $419 canadian. I added a bike stand which it didn't have for $7. It totalled $449 with tax.
It's a Trek Series 3 3500 with 18" frame and 26" x 2.00 wheels

What do you think of this bike?
Thanks

Basic low end Trek….all brands have them and I wouldnt suggest you do much jumping off of curbs on those wheels or hittin’ too much of the hard stuff on that for with very limited travel. As long as it fits you and you feel you got a good deal on the price then it really does not matter what we think….It matters what you think. There are other bikes in the $400 range that you could have purchased just across the boarder that would have been better speced for that same amount of money. Buying a bike like a Trek is about 30% name and 70% bike of that $400 you spent. There are other brands on the market today that would have given you a better speced bike than this Trek you went with but it should be fine for your intended use and that too is more important than what we think. As a different kind of ridder that I am your bike would not suit me at all but if it works for you then you have found your “best” bike.
You just asked this question 3 hours ago.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
It’s not a hardcore trail bike, recreationally i would use it (not really), Should have gone on ebay and find a better bike for that price!
if you actually ride it, its cool. if it just sits, then its a piece. only time will tell.
i personally would have gotten a cyclocross bike. there is very little you can do with that MTB that you couldn’t do with a cross check.
the mtb was cheaper but you could have got one used for $100 in great shape because people have a tendency to buy those things, take them out for one or two pathetic rides and decide they are too much work to pedal.
